This column describes some of the everyday matters where Hill, Piibe & Villegas obtained favorable outcomes for their clients.  As these cases were not publicized in the media or otherwise published in a Court opinion, the clients’ names have been withheld to respect their anonymity.

• Notary fraud - notarys error on asylum application was not held against client in Court removal proceedings
• Cancellation of removal - ten cases have been won/ reopened for new evidence
• Termination of removal proceedings - based on technicality of clients criminal conviction
• Asylum from Guatemala - granted by asylum officer, based on sexual orientation

• Reduction of sentence in criminal case - for purposes of qualifying for a green card
• Cancellation of Removal (“ten year” case) from Mexico - Immigration Judge granted green card to single mother of child who was a victim of traumatic crime
  
• Motion to Reopen for Cancellation - Judge reopened case with new evidence on child’s potential heart murmur and admittance to special educational programs
  
• Asylum from Armenia - BIA overturned Judge’s finding that client was not truthful
  
• Withholding from Indonesia - Judge granted green card to ethnic Chinese/Burmese Catholic
  
• Asylum from Armenia - BIA overturned Judge, holding that client established an exception to requirement to file for asylum within one year of entry, and also overturning Judge’s adverse credibility finding
  
• Asylum from Armenia - Judge granted green card to a “whistle blower” on military corruption”
  
• Asylum from Nicaragua - Judge granted green card to victim of domestic violence
  
• Cancellation of Removal from Mexico - Judge granted case due to child’s learning disability  
  
• Cancellation of Removal from Mexico - Judge granted green card due to child’s melanoma
  
• Cancellation of Removal from Mexico - Judge granted parents’ case because of daughter’s health problems; judge also granted the cases of the family’s sons for the same reason
  
• Cancellation of Removal from Mexico - Judge granted green card to parents of daughter with a cleft palate
  
• Cancellation of Removal from Mexico - Judge awarded green card to mother of four whose eldest child was fifteen, whose entire family resided lawfully in the U.S., and because her husband was from El Salvador and the family would be separated if deported
  
• Adjustment of Status - Judge granted green card after remarkable 16-year battle, and after client had been deported from Canada
  
• Extraordinary Ability Employment Petition - USCIS granted green card to golf coach based on showing of extraordinary ability
